About The Party Wall Act
The Party Wall Etc. Act 1996 came into force in the UK on 1st July 1997, it replaced the old London Building Act and extended its legislation across the whole of England & Wales.
The purpose of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 is to enforce a regulation to allow Building Owner’s to progress their works without lengthy disputes/delays, whilst safeguarding neighboring properties, in relation to works on Party Wall, boundary walls and excavations near neighbouring buildings.
